Hi guys. I don't know how many of you have been paying attention to these job postings. I've started to get more fervent about posting them since I know that a lot of us are unemployed or underemployed. I'm thankful not to be in that situation, so I hope that these might help out whoever reads them. I know that at least one of you has applied for some of these. This job in particular is a very special one, for a lot of reasons. Most importantly, you'd get to be my boss. Almost as importantly, you'd get to play a pretty strong role in the direction in which this organization is headed. If you have a lot of experience in writing, editing, and managing other writers and editors, and if you care a lot about technology and the nonprofit community, we need you in our organization. I very much do not want this job going to someone who doesn't understand writers or nonprofits. Technology, in the end, is secondary. Let me know if you're applying, even if I don't know you very well. I won't make up lies about you if I don't know you, but I will make sure the hiring manager doesn't ignore your resume. There are so many things I want to say but I don't know how. I'm just so sad. Wed, May. 6th, 2009, 12:53 pm
Hi everyone, As most of you probably already know, Craig Arnold is missing. You can find all the information at this Facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=74254019683From the group: "An independent expert search and rescue group is on the island looking for Craig until the 9th, but the official search by Japanese authorities has been called off. They believe that military assets would make the search very efficient and effective, and we hope the consulate will move forward with the possibility of engaging local US military/DOD assets in the search at this stage." There are two simple things you can do to help. One is to contact your congresspeople asking their assistance in encouraging the Fukuoka consulate to engage local US military/DOD assets on the ground in Japan. There are easy instructions for how to contact your senators and what to say to them here: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=74254019683&topic=7929The second thing, if you're able, is to make a donation to the fund that's been set up for the search. Any remaining money will be put into a college fund for Robin, Craig's son. There's more information on that here: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=74254019683&topic=7872Thu, Apr. 30th, 2009, 02:30 pm
